After regaining your sanity, in the mountainside paradise, you head off back down, to probably the most hectic part of your travels so far. The Delhi – Agra leg of the triangle.

No 2 month India itenerary or any India trip in fact would be complete without a trip to the Taj mahal itself. One of the wonders of the world and one of the most beautiful architectual buildings on the planet, in my humbled opinion.

The sheer size of the palace, intricately decorated to the finest detail, set within perfectly manicured gardens and equally as amazing surrounding temples. It was truly amazing.

Delhi and Agra are for obvious reasons the most densely populated cities in India and it can be very overwhelming, but completely and utterly worth it.

VARNASSI – 4 nights

We concluded our trip by going to VARNASSI. Regarded as the spiritual capital of India, the city draws Hindu pilgrims who bathe in the Ganges River’s sacred waters and perform funeral rites.

Along the city’s winding streets are some 2,000 temples, and ceremonies are held a night along the Ghats.

I found the burning of the bodies very overwhelming. But it’s so clear to the locals that death is a part of life. They go there to celebrate and worship their loved ones’ lives. To wish them farewell, prosperity and happiness for their next incarnation.

Varanasi can be overwhelming… Book this first-timer tour HERE!

The only place to stay here is the little oasis of calm in the hectic city. That is Shivakashi Guesthouse. Sanjeev is the most welcoming host. A very wise, sage-like man, who we keep in touch with to this day. His stories and theories of life were worth travelling alone to Varanasi.

To end your India trip, you can either head back to Delhi or fly home. However, I highly recommend adding Nepal to your next adventure.=
